Cities With the Best Quality of Life in Latin America
When you called the airport that provides the best services, Bogotá did not do well. Only 2.3 percent of respondents rated positively the Eldorado International Airport, compared with 30 percent favorable to Santiago de Chile and 29.6 percent for Miami. What does the study highlights is that the Bogota air terminal ranks first in volume of cargo in Latin America with more than 463 000 tons per year, and the third movement of passengers to major business centers, and after Guarulhos Congonhas, Sao Paulo, with 7.3 million passengers a year. The position of the airport may change as a result of the investment of more than one billion dollars referred to in the master plan.
Health, on the right track
Although executives surveyed for the best special health conditions are in Miami, Bogota achieved a favorable result (sixth) since the 4.6 percent of respondents chose it as a center for health services world-class cities such as beating Buenos Aires (4.4 percent), Monterrey (2.5 percent) and Rio de Janeiro (1.1 percent). According to the Chamber of Commerce, the export plan, medium and long term, the city plans to be a leader in the operation of services in fields such as cosmetic surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry and transplantation.
Challenges
The report of the Chamber of Commerce warns, after revealing the results of the survey, Bogotá’s goal is to reach the group of five cities with the best quality of life in Latin America, and is thus proposed by the Regional Council of Competitiveness . This requires progress in areas such as employment generation, enterprise development and improvement in the purchasing power of citizens.
