Best Cities For Doing Business in Latin America
It is also the first of the Andean Community to offer excellent conditions for professional development and standards of quality of life.
That is the perception of executives in the region, which is entered in the survey “Best cities for doing business in Latin America”, part of the ‘study of cities’, the journal ‘American Economy’, held in 2003 and 2004.
The results, revealed by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, indicated that the image of the Colombian capital improved by such factors as the positive perception of the elected executives (surveyed 1600) rose from 3.3 to 4.2 percent. Santiago de Chile ranked first with 25 percent of positive opinions.
One of the most favorable influence on the perception was that of security, since 91 percent of respondents agreed that security conditions have improved over the last three years. Santiago de Chile was ranked as the second city in this area with 41 percent.
For executives Bogota, quality of life in the Colombian capital raised (78 percent) due to the success of programs and projects of public and private sectors that have improved the environment and conditions of access of citizens to public services ( see graphs).
